Terming the recent country-wide agitation in support of Anna Hazare as the creation of a new paradigm for the country, Abhay Firodia, chairman of Force Motors said that it was the victory of the common man.
Speaking at an interactive session, organised by the Nagrik Chetna Manch at the Poona Club, Firodia said, “The movement for the Jan Lokpal Bill brought the nation together in such a way that had never crossed the minds of our parliamentarians. It ignited the minds of thousands and brought them out on the streets together. Anna Hazare is a villager and not an intellectual. It was only with the humility of his attitude and the force of his personality that he brought the nation together.”
He said that the inclusion of Jan in the Lokpal Bill exhilarated him. “There are a few rich people who are above the law and can get away with any amount of misconduct. It is the middle class who have to bear the brunt of the law and this agitation saw this class come together to raise their voice against injustice,” added Firodia.
