On dahi-handi festival, John Abraham expressed his support for social activist Anna Hazare and broke the 'anti-corruption handi' with his forehead.
Krishna Janmashtmi is a grand festival celebrated with much fanfare in Mumbai and several celebrities take part in the festivities every year. John Abraham participated in the dahi handi festival this year and endorsed both his film and his support to social activist Anna Hazare.
John along with producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah and director Nishikant Kamat of his upcoming film Force visited the dahi handi utsav at Pokhran in Thane district, which happens to be one of the most prominent dahi handi celebrations in the city. Says a source present at the occasion, "John spoke in chaste Marathi with the crowd. He also supported the all-girls team and cheered for them as they successfully broke the dahi handi ".
When asked about the present revolutionary phase that the country is going through, John said, "I am with Anna Hazare and all chors should be thrown out". Sporting a Gandhi topi in support of the social activist, John even broke a special dahi handi named after Anna Hazaara, called the 'Anti-corruption Handi' with his forehead.
