Hisar bypolls: Kejriwal throws up Lokpal Bill draft test

HISAR: Throwing a fresh challenge at political parties and candidates contesting the Hisar byelection, Arvind Kejriwal of Team Anna has asked them to make clear their stand on the draft Lokpal Bill suggested by Anna Hazare.

"Let political parties give an undertaking about their support to Anna's draft. If any candidate or a political party has any objection or problem in giving a written undertaking, then you should expose them before the electorate and must not support them,'' Kejriwal told workers of India Against Corruption (IAC), who had gathered at Sushila Bhawan on Friday afternoon. Expecting a large turnout at the venue, the organizers had installed LCDs to facilitate better hearing of Kejriwal's speech.

Kejriwal set September 30 deadline for candidates and political parties to make their intentions clear, asking IAC workers to carry out an intensive campaign for spreading awareness among the electorate of Hisar parliamentary constituency. "I am not here to support any particular political party. The only idea behind this campaign is to let only people with clean image and good level of understanding make it to parliament," he added.

"We are not here to talk about politics. We would rather educate the masses on right to reject and right to recall . We need to such awareness campaigns from time to time,''
