Youths spread Anna's message

BHUBANESWAR: Anna Hazare has become an idol for many. So much so that some youths in Bhubaneswar installed his photographs and anti-corruption slogans near the idol of Lord Ganesh on Ganesh Puja on Thursday.

Swami Saran Mishra, Subrat Kumar Sahoo and Chandra Sekhar Nayak of Students Association Club in IRC Village, Nayapally, felt this is the best way to spread the message of Anna during the festivity.

"Though we celebrate Ganesh Puja every year, this time we thought of doing something unique. We put photographs of Anna on both sides of Ganesh idol and banners of anti-corruption slogan," Swami said.

The concept was a major crowd-puller as a number of people of the locality and passers-by thronged the site to catch a glimpse of Ganesh and Anna. Internationally-acclaimed sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik made sculptures of Ganesh and Anna Hazare in Bangalore recently to spread the message of anti-corruption.
