Rally planned from Mumbai to Ralegan Siddhi

MUMBAI: Mumbaikars rallying behind Anna Hazare, who is fasting in Delhi for the Jan Lokpal bill, have decided to take their protest on the road and to his home. A car and motorcycle rally has been organized on Saturday from Azad Maidan in south Mumbai to Ralegan Siddhi, Hazare's village in Parner taluka of Ahmednagar district.

Till Friday evening, 18 motorbikes and four cars had already been registered for the rally. The rally is expected to leave the iconic Azad Maidan at 9 am and wind its way to Ralegan Siddhi. Hazare, the veteran social activist, lives in a room attached to a temple in Ralegan Siddhi.

One of the coordinators of India Against Corruption, the group organizing the protests in Mumbai, said, "We want to convey a message that Mumbaikars are with Hazare. We will shoot videos in the village and try to capture the spirit of the village and convey it back to the people in Mumbai."
