New Delhi: Sushma Swaraj seems to be in divide and rule mood. She has been trying to search for chinks in Congress armor by attacking the Congress Party and the government while sparing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Today in the Parliament she wholeheartedly attacked Congress, not even sparing the Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, who was leading the government benches against the Jan Lokpal Bill that has been put forward by Anna Hazare team members.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who is leading the Congress party fight back on the issue in absence of his mother and Congress party chief Sonia Gandhi had said that instead of a new Lokpal bill what the nation needed was a constitutional provision for the Lokpal on the same pattern as that of Election Commission in India.
His point was appreciated by not just Congress leaders but also TN Seshan, who first time used the powers vested with the Indian Election Commission that ultimately made it a completely independent institution.
Sushma Swaraj, who is the leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha tried to create rift within the government when she while praising the Prime Minister said, “But Congress general secretary ( Rahul Gandhi) watered down your (prime minister’s) statesmanship”.
She said that Prime Minister himself was willing to be under the ambit of Lok Pal but was not being allowed by other Congress leaders.
