Ramdev not allowed to meet Anna Hazare, address public outside Tihar

New Delhi: High profile yoga guru Baba Ramdev was denied permission to meet Anna Hazare inside the Tihar Jail on Wednesday. Ramdev reached Tihar in the afternoon to meet the Gandhian activist, who has refused to come out of jail, and support the fight against corruption.

However, his plea to enter the jail premises was turned down by Tihar officials.

However, spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravishankar was allowed to meet Hazare.

Following the denial, Ramdev climbed atop his car and started addressing the huge public gathering outside the jail premises. However, the yoga guru was forced to stop his antics by the Delhi police officials soon.

Earlier in the day, Ramdev met President Pratibha Devisingh Patil to submit a memorandum against Hazare’s detention.

Ramdev had also supported Hazare’s previous protest at Jantar Mantar.

Ramdev's fast against black money at Ramlila Ground, which started on June 4, was forcibly ended with a post-midnight crackdown by the police.
