Breaking news: Keep celebrations non-violent, Anna Hazare tells followers

Government interlocutor and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh handed over Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's letter to Anna Hazare at Ramlila Maidan.

Hazare thanked the media, saying that it was the victory of the people.

Hazare said he would end the fast tomorrow only if was the people's will.

Hazare appealed to the masses to be non-violent in their celebrations.

Lok Sabha and Raja Sabha adopted a 'sense of house' on three key issues raised by Hazare by a thumping of desks.

It was a sense of the house in both Lok Sabha and
Rajya Sabha which was reflected in thumping of desks by members, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said.

The 'sense of the house' resolution moved by Mukherjee reads:

"This house agrees 'in principle' on following issues - (i) citizen charter, (ii) lower bureaucracy under Lokpal through an appropriate mechanism, and (iii) establishment of Lok Ayukta in the states; And further resolves to forward the proceedings of the house to the Standing Committee on Law and Justice while finalising its report."

The 'sense of the house' is to be conveyed to Hazare shortly through Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar, sources said.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that Parliament had spoken. The will of Parliament is will of the people, Singh added.
