Anna’s wave has become tsunami now: Om Puri

Jodhpur: Extending his support to the war on corruption, Bollywood actor Om Puri has said that Anna’s anti-corruption wave has become a tsunami which can have ‘catastrophic’ effect on the corrupt leaders and bureaucrats.

Talking to reporters at the Khimsar Fort, Puri urged government employees to support Anna Hazare’s agitation.

The 60-year-old actor blasted political leaders for suggesting that Anna’s protest was being backed by some other political party or organisation.

“God forbid, in case Anna’s health deteriorates further, it will be very dangerous,” he said.

Expressing his anger against the corrupt leaders, Om Puri said while the background of a Bollywood actor is scanned thoroughly before awarding him/her for the prestigious Padmshree award no one bothers to question a political leader before he decides to contest election.

Give the corrupt leaders a taste of their own recipe

Ompuri, who has appeared in both mainstream Indian films and art films, said that leaders, who distribute money and liquor during elections should be treated through their own corrupt style.

“These corrupt leaders should be taught a lesson in their own language. People should take money that they offer for voting in favour of them but should only vote for  an honest candidate,” Om Puri said.

Om Puri is in Jodhpur for the shooting of his upcoming film- ‘Char Din ki Chandni’, which also stars Tushar Kapoor,  Anupam Kher, Mukul Dev, Chandrachur Singh, Sudhanshu Singh, Hemant Pandey, Anita Raj and others.
