Shahid Kapoor begs to differ on the fact that Bollywood celebrities can work wonders in eradicating corruption from the nation. In fact, he thinks due to restricted knowledge of politics and the laws, celebs like him prefer to stay away from such noble cause. Thus, people like Anna Hazare who have potential to make a difference are much more powerful than any celebrity in tinsel villa.
Shahid explains, “I think I have no expertise to even comment on anti-corruption campaign considering the technicalities of Jan Lokpal Bill. But, yes, on the grass root level, I can say if someone is fighting for the rights of a common man who works hard to meet his basic needs, it is a noble cause and I wish it becomes successful.”
“As far as the role of celebrities as a catalyst in such a campaign is concerned, considering the fans follow us, that’s purely the celeb’s personal choice. Nobody can force one to do something against one’s will. In the end it is intention and not action that matters,” he signs off.
