  Fri, Apr 08, 2011

YOGA GURU Baba Ramdev reached Jantar Mantar on Friday and joined the movement against corruption led by renowned social activist Anna Hazare. The list of personalities joining Hazare in Delhi and elsewhere is growing at a rapid pace and people are also coming in large numbers to Jantar Mantar to join the fast.

They want the much-awaited Lokpal Bill implemented soon so that corrupt IAS officers, ministers and judges can be sent to jail for their wrong doings.

More than 76 hours have already passed and the struggle is gaining momentum - with people from all walks of life are coming together and joining hands in their mission to convince the union government and to accept the draft as prepared by Anna Hazare.

Several personalities from the Indian film industry have also joined the cause and they too have led their support to Anna Hazare. Amir Khan, Anupam Kher, Kabir Bedi, Tom Alter, playback singer Abhijit and actress Pooja Bedi, Kareena Kapoor too have expressed their solidarity with Anna Hazare.

Baba Ramdev, Swami Agnivesh, Kiran Bedi, and Arvind Kejriwal want the Prime Minister to act fast on the issue. They all have opined that PM should not buy time on this issue as people don’t want to see corrupt leaders in power anymore.

The 103-year-old freedom fighter Mudgal Swamiji was also present on the occasion. Baba Ramdev said the wave against corruption will engulf the entire nation and people have awakened now. We will not allow anybody to loot the nation.

“Bharat humko prano se bhi pyara hai aur hum isko lutne nahi denge,” said Baba Ramdev. The yoga guru said that the government should recommend five honest persons and no tainted politician should be allowed to be a member of any body that will talk and negotiate with people’s representatives on the Lokpal Bill.
